1993 Taswell 49 | Moondance
Tastefully finished with a teak interior and teak and Holly -ole and cedar-lined cabinets, Moondance lives up to the top-notch construction standards of the Ta Shing boat yard. Her moderate freeboard, raised cabin top and centre-cockpit layout allow for ample storage space and comfortable seating for six to eight guests in the main saloon.
The yacht has three cabins to accommodate six crew and two heads both with separate showers. Many overhead hatches deliver lots of airflow and exceptional natural light. The courtesy lights and teak handholds in the main saloon provide a clear path when underway or at night.
The master stateroom has a generous walk-around bed, private ensuite with separate shower, large cedar-lined hanging lockers, drawers, a compact study, leather bench seat and superb natural lighting and air flow. The forward V-berth cabin features a bed comfortable for two people, copious storage and excellent natural ventilation options, as a dual-access ensuite with an abundance of storage, and cabin access to the yacht’s chain locker. A convenient bunk cabin is located on the port side and features two berths with reading lights, hatches and storage, making it ideal for kids or extra guests.
The saloon boasts an extraordinary 6’4” of headroom and comprises a curved lounge with storage and a C-shaped dinette, with additional seats on the centreline. Again, storage facilities are found throughout the yacht, which is perfect for those seeking to embark on extended cruises.
Moondance has a large U-shaped galley with Corian countertops, generous storage, Force 10 4-burner stove and oven, double stainless steel sink, and a top- and front-loading fridge/freezer. The nav station is practical and well positioned, with plenty of stowage for charts and documentation.
On deck, Moondance is laid out for easy sail handling and safety with numerous grab rails and wide teak side decks. Boarding gates provide safe access from both sides and easy access to the swim platform.
The comfortable centre cockpit complements the interior layout with style. The teak cockpit seating is relatively protected out of the elements by the dodger and bimini with optional full canvas enclosure. There is a removable teak grate on the sole and Edson steering pedestal with cockpit table. Two self-tailing Lewmar 58 electric primary winches allow for easy sail adjustments by a shorthanded crew.
After 10 years of beautiful cruising adventures, Moondance’s owners are reluctantly returning to mainland life which presents an excellent opportunity for buyers seeking a well-designed, comfortable yacht that will give the many years of memories.
