2016 Nautitech Open 40 | Two Dragons

The Nautitech Open 40 is a French-built catamaran designed for speed, style, comfort and safety, making it the ideal choice for a family or couple embarking on coastal cruising or around the world blue-water sailing adventures.

Always privately owned, Two Dragons was cruised extensively by her original owners. Purchased by the current owner with the intention of upgrading for liveaboard/ cruising in Australia, but circumstances have changed mid refit, and the boat is back on the market.

Recent upgrades include an impressive 1.5 Kw of solar panels with new Victron MultiPlus II 3000w invertor/charger, new Victron MPPTS and 1380Ah of LiFePo4 batteries. The mainsail was replaced in 2019, rig report available from 2024 and a new washing machine installed in 2024.

The spacious saloon and functional galley offer all the amenities needed for a comfortable liveaboard experience and entertaining. Part of the owner’s refit plan was to upgrade the gas stove/oven to an induction style system to remove gas reliance. This and a couple of other small projects require completion to transform the boat.

The four double cabins are filled with natural light and offer ample storage space. The renowned ‘open’ design of the modern Nautitech creates the feeling of open plan living space achieved by the deck, cockpit and saloon connecting seamlessly all on the same level. Additionally, the cockpit can be fully enclosed to create a huge outdoor/indoor living area.

The slim design of the hulls slice through the water, combined with aquadynamic keels, providing Two Dragons with a level of performance usually only achieved by daggerboard catamarans.

The Nautitech Open 40’s closed-cell foam construction makes the hull very resistant to impact and water absorption. It also features solid composite bilges, sacrificial keels, and a series of strategically placed watertight bulkheads which make it one of the safest offshore cruising catamarans available.

There is a full suite of Garmin electronics, including AIS and a 60L/h watermaker and genset, making Two Dragons well-equipped for cruising.

Fully imported into Australia, available now and priced to attract a quick sale. She is currently Langkawi registered, which can be transferred to new ownership if required.
