Edmund Tan

Edmund Tan is a dedicated Service Technician at The Yacht Sales Co., bringing a wealth of mechanical and electrical expertise to the team. His journey began with a childhood passion for cycling and fishing, which evolved into a love for all things mechanical.

As a child, Edmund would hunt for discarded domestic electrical appliances, dismantling and fixing them, alongside repairing his own bicycles. Growing up near the beach, Edmund developed a deep appreciation for the sun, sea, and sand. His teenage years saw him take up offroad riding and cruising on big motorcycles along the freeway.

Edmund’s mechanical inclination led him to work with SHIMANO S.E.A’s fishing division as a brand ambassador and product field-tester. In this role, he travelled to roadshows, demonstrated products to fishing clubs and dealerships, and consulted on product development for the S.E.A market, directly liaising with R&D engineers.

Starting his career as a machinist, Edmund later transitioned to the aviation industry, gaining experience with commercial aero engines and working in an aerospace base maintenance facility. His diverse background has equipped him with transferrable skills and a meticulous attention to detail.

At The Yacht Sales Co., Edmund’s passion for mechanical and electrical systems, combined with his extensive experience, makes him an invaluable asset to the Service team in Singapore.
