Patrick Gilot
Born in France, Patrick has lived and studied across Europe, South America, and the USA, making him fluent in French, Spanish, English, and German. His passion for sailing began in his hometown of Marseille, where he raced Lasers before cruising the Mediterranean aboard various catamarans.
Patrick’s expertise was recognised by prestigious catamaran manufacturer Catana, where he began as an agent in Florida before being appointed Export Sales Manager in 2003. In this role, he travelled extensively, attending international boat shows, managing after-sales service, addressing brokerage matters, and playing a pivotal role in the launch of Catana’s new range.
Later, Patrick became Catana’s Australian agent, representing the brand with exceptional product knowledge and a deep understanding of the global yacht brokerage market. His outstanding sales skills, technical expertise, and multilingual talents significantly strengthen The Yacht Sales Co.’s Brokerage team, ensuring clients receive world-class service, whether buying or selling their yacht.
In his leisure time, Patrick volunteers as a surf lifesaver in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, showcasing his dedication to the community and love of the outdoors.

Not only was my Helia 44 NOT for sale, but you put together a deal and sea trial, and survey, and delivery all as smooth as silk when my Helia was not even for sale!!! Then, when we had decided we were pretty much out of boating now, you did another miracle and has put together a deal on the SABA 50 Serenity. Again, it has gone smooth as silk, you were the MAN on the spot that negotiated the whole thing and made it happen.
I am not sure you could get a better sales team. I get nothing out of this, no reason state other than the truth. You get the job done, not by being a pushy salesman, as I detest that approach. He puts together the scenario of an ‘œopportunity’ that you just cannot resist. We did not intend to either sell the Helia, OR buy the SABA 50, but we just could not resist it. He matched the buyers and the sellers to make an opportunity for both, without being a pushy salesman. It takes a special kind of person to pull that off.
