2018 SwissCat 48 | Babar II
Established by a passionate sailor in 2009, the SwissCat yard has built a reputation for producing premium hand-crafted multihulls created by a dedicated and highly skilled team. With limited production and meticulous attention to detail, Babar II showcases the very best of SwissCat design. Her carbon-reinforced EPOXY construction delivers exceptional rigidity and excellent ageing resistance, offering long-term durability and unwavering confidence at sea. Purpose-built for blue water cruising, she combines reassurance, refinement and genuine sailing enjoyment.
Designed with extended voyaging in mind, Babar II features four spacious cabins that provide generous accommodation for family and guests. Her solid construction, efficient sail plan, quality materials and superb craftsmanship all contribute to her excellent offshore comfort and performance.
Launched in June 2018, Babar II has completed an impressive portfolio of international passages. Between 2018 and 2020 she cruised the Mediterranean, Greece and the Balearic Islands. From 2020 to 2023 she explored the Antilles, Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas, Colombia and San Blas. Her adventures continued across the Pacific during 2024 and 2025, voyaging through French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Australia. These extensive miles underline her capability as a reliable and versatile long-distance cruising catamaran.
The owners closely followed every stage of her construction at the SwissCat facility in Balaruc-les-Bains, incorporating thoughtful personal refinements and enhancements. They have shared Babar II with family and friends on voyages lasting up to six months at a time, creating unforgettable memories at some of the world’s most beautiful anchorages. Highlights include a 2019 transatlantic crossing to Guadeloupe, wintering in Charleston during the 2020 hurricane season and exploring the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Marquesas, Tuamotus, Tahiti and the Society Islands. In 2025 she completed her Pacific crossing visiting Suwarrow, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and New Caledonia before arriving in Brisbane, Australia.
Beautifully presented and exceptionally well proven, Babar II is fully prepared to welcome her next owner for another chapter of remarkable ocean cruising adventures. Contact our team for more information or to arrange a viewing.
