Teïs is the result of a carefully conceived owner’s project, created with a clear vision of safe, efficient blue-water cruising and a refined lifestyle at sea. Faced with the broad market of production and semi-custom yachts, her owners defined a precise brief centred on four core principles: light displacement with reassuring offshore performance, a sociable and welcoming layout for crew and guests, ease of handling and maintenance for a small crew, and an elegant, timeless design.

To achieve these objectives, the owners consulted leading naval architects and shipyards in France, South Africa and Lithuania before shortlisting two French builders and ultimately selecting Outremer and the highly respected Outremer 51. Widely regarded as a benchmark in offshore cruising catamarans, the Outremer 51 is renowned for her build quality, performance pedigree and strong international owners’ community.

Configured with safety and offshore capability as top priorities, Teïs is equipped with a compression beam enabling the use of a staysail, significantly reducing rig and headsail loads while enhancing heavy-weather performance. She also features the optional perforated foam construction, delivering an approximate 600 kg weight saving which improves speed, responsiveness and comfort at sea. Additional options were carefully selected to maximise onboard comfort and liveability without compromising efficiency or reliability.

After more than three years of full-time living aboard and extensive ocean cruising, the owners’ plans have evolved. With a desire to spend extended periods in New Zealand and Australia and to remain closer to their growing family, they have made the considered decision to pass Teïs on to her next custodians.
