1996 Grand Mistral Maxi One Design | Pearl
Pearl is an outstanding example of the Grand Mistral Maxi One Design, built in France by Mistral Composite and designed by world-renowned naval architect Bruce Farr. Originally conceived for ocean racing, she underwent a comprehensive professional conversion between 2010 and 2023, evolving into a high-performance cruising yacht perfectly suited to shorthanded, long-distance voyaging.
Measuring 24 metres, Pearl combines sleek, powerful lines with true offshore capability. Her Kevlar/epoxy hull, reinforced with carbon, offers exceptional strength and rigidity, while the carbon rig and 2023 Evolution Sails inventory deliver remarkable performance. She is capable of reaching speeds of up to 24 knots, with consistent 250–300 NM daily runs in moderate trade-wind conditions. Upwind, her performance is equally impressive, comfortably maintaining speed at apparent wind angles down to 25°.
Below deck, the interior is bright, functional and surprisingly comfortable for a yacht of her pedigree. Accommodation includes a master double cabin with ensuite, two single cabins, a spacious saloon, fully equipped galley, dedicated laundry, and a well-appointed technical workshop. Pearl is fully autonomous for extended passages, equipped with a 250 L/h watermaker, two generators, Webasto central heating, and a full suite of Simrad electronics (2025) including radar, AIS, satellite communications and dual autopilot systems. Offshore safety equipment includes liferafts, AIS beacons and EPIRB.
On deck, Pearl features a carbon swing swim platform, sliding dodger, solid teak deck (2016), electric winches, bow thruster, and an optimised layout that allows effortless shorthanded sailing.
Well set up for both adventure and liveaboard cruising, she comes with an AB 12’ tender (2023) with Yamaha outboard, wing-foil gear, full diving equipment, windsurfing kit, fishing gear and even a sailmaker’s sewing machine.
Versatile, fast and comprehensively equipped, Pearl represents a rare opportunity to acquire a yacht that seamlessly blends race-bred performance with genuine cruising comfort — fully prepared for her next global passage.
