2006 Harmony 38 | Fusion

The current owner chose this Harmony 38 because he wanted a strong vessel capable of a round the world trip without major modifications. Fusion was built in France by Poncin Yachts with infusion and Kevlar reinforcement and is well-equipped with 200L diesel and 500L water + 200L rainwater tanks.

He has added many upgrades and additions since 2021 to ensure safety and self-sufficiency at sea, including 1100w of solar panels and 400Ah lithium-ion house batteries, an 80L freezer to supplement the 200L fridge, two updated Raymarine autopilots (including an Evolution EV1) and radar. A 2000w Victron inverter was added in 2024. All the electronics can be accessed on a tablet or smartphone.

New in 2021, the headsail, gennaker and staysail are all on furlers. The mainsail has three automatic reefs and all halyards and sheets run back to the cockpit that features a hard dodger. A 24kg Spade anchor with 100m of chain means you can rest easy at anchor, and the windlass is controlled by a remote at the helm.

Upgrades in 2023 include Coppercoat antifoul, a new AB290 Hypalon tender with covers and Tohatsu 9.8 Hp 2-stroke and Starlink in addition to the 2021 Iridium Go.

There’s also a Sunbrella winter cockpit tent that’s barely been used and all portholes and companionway doors have mosquito nets.

After an extraordinary few years sailing the world on the trip of a lifetime, the owner now needs to head back to reality (and a job), so is reluctantly getting ready to pass the helm on to the next lucky adventurer.

Fusion has been tried and tested and proven to be a fantastic ocean-going vessel fully equipped and ready to go on extended journeys. There are plenty of spares and back-ups on board.
