2005 Scimitar 1010 | Champagne Charlie

Originally designed to be the perfect Moreton Bay cruiser, the Scimitar 1010 is well known for its fuel efficiency and clever design. This 2005 flybridge version provides the ideal platform to cruise effortlessly and economically much further afield than the Bay.

It’s comfortable enough to live aboard and spacious enough to entertain family and friends easily, but also a fantastic weekender or fishing holiday cruiser.

As a catamaran, with a nice wide beam, it is very stable at anchor and while underway, and is easy to manoeuvre with its two props so far apart. Accommodation for up to eight people includes two double berths and two single bunks below, with space for two more people to sleep in the flybridge.

Powered by two easily accessible Volvo D3 160hp engines with a Raymarine autopilot, Champagne Charlie only uses 7L / hr diesel per engine at 8.5knots cruising speed – an ideal speed to catch dinner en route! The helm features luxurious twin skipper’s chairs, and the flybridge has extra seating that converts to a bed so there’s plenty of room up there to entertain while you’re underway or at anchor.

A unique feature of this 1010 is an extended aft platform as well as a full stainless railing and a large removable bait board which doubles as the BBQ stand. The near new 3.4m Highfield rigid inflatable tender is fitted with beach wheels and a 6hp Tohatsu 4-stroke outboard engine.

The 5m beam allows the saloon and galley to be spacious and comfortable, equipped with everything you need, including a three burner gas cooktop and oven, a multitude of cupboards and deep draw space for dry goods, a refrigerator and three deep freezers.

There are numerous fishing rod holders on the aft deck and railing and there are 12v plugs for electric reels, game fishing outriggers, a 1kw sounder transducer and a new Raymarine Axiom radar, and a Muir anchor windlass with chain counter.
