The new Dufour 39 introduces a fresh approach to the performance cruising yacht, combining responsive sailing, exceptional interior volume and a highly adaptable deck and accommodation layout in a yacht designed to suit very different styles of ownership.

Developed through the collaboration of renowned naval architect Umberto Felci and designer Luca Ardizio, the Dufour 39 features a modern chined hull, generous beam carried well forward, a precise single rudder and twin helm stations. The result is a yacht that feels balanced and responsive under sail while remaining stable, intuitive and easy to manage.

Short-handed sailing is central to the Dufour 39 concept. In its standard Easy configuration, the yacht features an Elvstrøm full-batten Dacron mainsail, self-tacking jib on furler, self-tacking track, single-line reefing led aft, two coachroof winches, lazy bag and lazy jacks. This simple sail-handling arrangement makes tacking and everyday manoeuvres particularly straightforward when sailing as a couple or with reduced crew.

For owners who want to make sail handling even easier, the Dufour 39 can be ordered with an in-mast furling mainsail system. Electric Harken coachroof winches, B&G autopilot, bow thruster and comprehensive navigation packages can also be selected to create an extremely capable short-handed cruising yacht.

For sailors wanting additional sail power while maintaining easy cockpit control, the Ocean configuration introduces a larger genoa, additional coaming winches, German mainsheet system and Code 0 / asymmetric spinnaker preparation. Dufour specifically designed this configuration to retain enjoyable handling even with a reduced crew.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Performance configuration transforms the Dufour 39 into a more technical sailing platform, with six winches, an Offshore square-top mainsail, 108% genoa, cockpit mainsail traveller and upgraded deck hardware for more precise sail trim.
