2002 Hallberg Rassy 53 | Saorsa
Saorsa means ‘freedom’ in Scottish Gaelic, and this yacht certainly lives up to her name. Her previous owners have enjoyed many years of world cruising and she stands as a testament to the care, maintenance and devotion they have bestowed on this beautiful yacht. She is now presented for sale in Mooloolaba in exemplary condition ready for new adventurers to enjoy.
With excellent head height throughout, Saorsa features three cabins, including a spectacular owner’s suite aft with private ensuite, a spacious guest cabin forward (with either a twin single or large double bunks) and a twin bunk cabin adjacent to the large separate heads and shower.
A welcoming and generously sized saloon includes a large white leather L-shaped lounge and dinette, plus two comfy armchairs with coffee table and bar. Complemented by a large, well-equipped galley and ample refrigeration. There is excellent head height throughout.
The yacht is also equipped with an 8kva genset for its ducted air conditioning and additional Webasto diesel heating if required, a Spectra watermaker, and a washing machine. The large house battery bank, start battery and 24v/2500w inverter were replaced in 2023.
Powered by a fully rebuilt (March 2024) 145hp Volvo engine, with just over 150hrs since re install. The driveshaft has a Gori 3-blade folding propellor and new (2021) Aquadrive shaft seals. The 15hp bow thruster assists parking in tight spaces.
Saorsa is fitted with a solid windscreen and a canvas bimini flowing aft keeping you safe and protected in inclement weather. She features a full suite of B&G/ Simrad navigation equipment with redundancies.
The sailing arrangement is easily managed with with ‘at helm’ push button hydraulic furling headsails and mainsail. The standing rigging, replaced in 2022, includes a NavTech hydraulic backstay with new seals and fully serviced in 2021. A furling HydraNet 433 mainsail and genoa and Dacron furling staysail, gennaker and storm jib complete the sail inventory.
One the most complete blue water sailing yachts we have seen, Saorsa is ready to set sail with new owners on her next adventure.
