With lockdowns continuing throughout Australia, the organisers of the Whitsunday Rendezvous have made the difficult decision to cancel the event for 2021. Mariner Boating Holidays hope to bring this event back in 2022 and we will let you know when new dates have been decided.

In October 2021 the famous Whitsunday Rendezvous is back! After a ‘Covid pause’ this popular fun event promises to be special – and we’d love you to join us!
Held from 22 – 30 October, you can join on your own boat, charter a cabin or charter a whole yacht. This year we are taking it up a notch with the White on Whitehaven Long Lunch by Fish D’Vine – guaranteed to make this event truly memorable.
Co-hosted by Multihull Solutions, The Yacht Sales Co and Mariner Boating, this week of casual carousing on the water has been an enjoyable sailing event in the bi-annual calendar. Combine cruising the idyllic Whitsunday Islands with a varied social program and some great prizes.
The rendezvous is a unique combination of sailing comradery and social engagements. The sailing itinerary includes frequent stops for memorable social functions and private relaxation. Competition for the special prizes during the blindfolded dinghy sprint, figure head competition and time trial can become a fierce battle!

PROPOSED SAILING ITINERARY
Day 1 – Friday 22 October
The program will start and finish at the Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach. Join us for welcome drinks and canapes in the all new Look Out Lounge where we’ll get the party started. A compulsory event briefing will also be part of the evening.
Spend the evening onboard your yacht in the marina.
Day 2 – Saturday 23rd October
Mid-morning we will sail from Airlie Beach to Nara Inlet. Nara Inlet is a beautiful fjord like inlet, featuring ancient Ngaro Aboriginal cave paintings. Take a bush walk and enjoy views over the inlet or walk to the top of the waterfall which is spectacular after heavy rains.
Day 3 – Sunday 24th October
From Nara Inlet we’ll sail to Cid Harbour. The scenic walking track from Sawmill Beach to Dugong Beach is not too strenuous. If you are fit and have the whole day, consider a walk to Whitsunday Peak for spectacular views over The Whitsundays. This anchorage is teeming with turtles and you will also spot sea eagles and the occasional dugong!
Day 4 – Monday 25th October
Spend a leisurely day sailing Whitsunday Islands National Park, recommended stops include Mays Bay and Gulnare Inlet.
If you wish to visit Hamilton Island today, we will pre-book berthing for you. If you do visit Hamilton Island, sunset drinks at One Tree Hill are a highlight.
Day 5 – Tuesday 26th October
Spend the day at the iconic Whitehaven Beach and enjoy a spectacular long lunch on one of Queensland’s most magnificent beaches. White on Whitehaven Long Lunch is sure to be the culinary highlight of the week. Lunch will be prepared and presented by Fish D’Vine. Welcome cocktail, beer, wine and soft drink are also included. There will be protection and facilities on the beach.
Day 6 – Wednesday 27th October
Sail to Cateran Bay on Border Island. Cateran Bay offers great snorkeling and diving as well as a pretty beach accessible at high tide. There is a beautiful walk with magnificent views.
Day 7 – Thursday 28th October
This morning we’ll sail from Cateran Bay to Butterfly Bay, a great place to snorkel or dive. From Butterfly you can also dinghy around to Maureen’s Cove for more beautiful snorkeling and diving. There is an abundance of fish and corals that can take you days to explore.
Day 8 – Friday 29th October
Sail at leisure back to Airlie Beach and join us for a final night themed event at Sorrento Restaurant.
Spend the night on board your yacht in the marina.
Day 9 – Saturday 30th October
Say goodbye to all your new friends and continue onward with your adventures.
The itinerary will be dotted with memorable social functions including a blindfolded dinghy sprint, figure head competition and time trial.
