1991 Terry Crisp 44 | Shambala 1
Shambala 1 is a classic ocean-proven 44ft cruising sloop, built and originally owned by Terry Crisp in Brisbane. Modified from the Robert Perry Passagemaker design, Shambala 1 has sailed around the world and embarked on numerous voyages through the Pacific.
In excellent condition, the yacht has been well maintained by her current owner, and her engine was replaced in 2010 with a larger Vetus 53hp diesel. A fully battened Quantum mainsail was added in 2015 in the US, and genoa upgraded by Core Sails in 2019, plus there is a working jib and inner staysail (only used a couple of times). All-new deck hatch and side window acrylic and recently replaced cockpit clears means there is little remaining to do.
Shambala 1 features all the cruising gear you require, including large water and fuel capacity, watermaker, Flemming steering system, washing machine and good suite of electronics.
Accommodation comprises a roomy forepeak with pullman-style double bed and an aft quarter berth main cabin with double bed plus pilot berth beside the companion way. There is also a single berth with lee cloth located midships. The yacht enjoys a big saloon settee and galley with great fridge and freezer capacity.
Shambala 1 represents an excellent opportunity to purchase a solid cruising or liveaboard yacht for coastal/ world travel at a very reasonable price.
